Ask your dr. There are migraine meds & chronic pain relievers available by prescription.

Has your doctor considered migraine prevention (e.g. Inderal)? Some say biofeedback helps (but never tried it myself).

Sorry to hear about all your ailments — one day at a time! Try to get out as much as possible and know you aren’t alone.

    See a neurologist.

With all your other injuries and conditions, ask if Topamax (which is prophylatic against migraine) is appropriate for you.

Also ask about Zomig (zolmytriptan) for once you have a headache.

These two drugs have made my life worth living again.

    Best of luck to you.

I thought my migraines got bad, I am sorry for your pain. They way I deal with my migraines is at the first sign/symptom. I take 800 mg of Motrin, at first sign. I have tried the prescription meds, but they often make my stomach queasy. My migraines consist of the norm: peripheral vision loss- both eyes( sucks, because I can’t drive), sensitivity to light, heaviness in head and body, agitation, and sometimes extremity loss of feeling( hand has gone numb on several occasions-thank god that’s rare). But your case seems to be a lot more severe than mine, so i am unsure if the Motrin trick will work for you, you probably have already tried it. good luck

you should consult a doctor since migraines are caused by many different things. Once the cause is narrowed down, treatment can begin. Treatment ranges from preventive medication, medication for active migranes, acupunture, and even surgery. They are probably more treatments that I am not familiar with too.
I used to suffer migraines due to stress. Once I decreased my stress level, they occured less often. However, I recently had a chronic sinus infection that was causing non-stop migraines for months, due to the swelling pressing on a nerve. Once I had surgery on my sinuses, the migraines went away.

It sounds like you need a treatment team who would be working in concert to help your body conquer these stresses and pains. If you are unable to locate an established team, then you at least need a medical doctor and a licensed mental health professional. Relief in any of these areas will help in ALL the areas. Except for your physical injuries, all of these symptoms can be related to your depression, so that might be a good place to start – with the mental health area. There are good medications that, when used with wisdom and caution, can help you think more clearly, feel less stressed out and fearful – adding up to giving you hope for your future. Don’t give up. God bless you.

Eight years ago I was diagnosed with cervical disc disease after being in a car accident many years before. I too have terrible migraines, fibromyalgia and suffer from depression as a result of not being able to work anymore. After countless approaches, including physical therapy, pain clinics and every kind of medication combination you can think of, I have finally found some relief with my new Neurologist. This is what has helped me; (be sure to consult your Doctor to make sure any medication is right for you) Relpax ( Out of all the migraine medications out there this one helped me the most) combined with Topamax,Neurontin, Skelaxin and Paxil for depression. My neck hurts every day but I perservere now that the migraines are under control. Also, see if there is a Headache support group in your area, sharing with others often helps. Please get help asap, I have been there and there is hope. Good Luck

Go to bed and wake up at the same time seven days a week. Get 8 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. Instead of sleeping in on weekends, awaken at the usual time, get out of bed, walk around the house for 10 minutes, drink some juice, and then go back to bed. People who sleep in on weekends will likely develop “hangover headaches” from excessive sleep. Avoid working long hours or irregular shifts.sumatriptan oral tabs 50-100 mg repeat after 2 hrs if needed.
