Judy Wellsworth asked: Migraines are intense, painful and can be incapacitating. One minute everything is fine and the next you are in so much pain and feel sick. Migraine headache triggers that can bring on a migraine are as follows:
• Stress
• Light
• Sound
• Smell
• Other Medical Condition
Why we are not very sure what brings on a migraine it is thought to “run in the family” or be genetics. Some people seem to be more prone the migraines. Some people will notice an “aura” about 30 minutes before the onset of a migraine. This will be visual difference such as spots or lines and some will feel numbness or tingling in their arms before the onset. They come on suddenly and can incapacitate you. You will feel sick and want to vomit.
There are a couple of things you can do when a migraine headache triggers arise are:
• You can go to the ER and get treatment.
• You can talk to your doctor and get a prescribed medication to help prevent attacks.
• You can try Herbal or Holistic treatments.
• You can try ice packs or hot-packs.
• You can lie down in a dark room and try to go to sleep.
• You can try over-the-counter medication.
One thing is for sure when you get a migraine you want to find a remedy fast to make the pain go away. Migraine headache triggers can vary from one person to the next. You may want to try and make a note of what you were doing, eating or weather conditions just before you noticed the onset of an attack. This will help you and your doctor find a possible trigger for your migraines. You may want to have your doctor prescribe a medication for you. Make sure you follow the doctors’ instructions for taking your medications.
Millions of people suffer from migraines and other types of headaches every day. Finding the best medication or treatment for your headaches can help prevent the onset of intense debilitating pain. Learn what some of the migraine headache triggers might be and gather information to help you understand your headaches and what kind of treatments are out there for you. With this information, people have become more independent from a doctor as the migraine is taken care of with remedies as soon as the migraine headache triggers set in.
